Just had the best meal at Sushi Thaime. We ordered General Tsaos Chicken which was freshly prepared and tasty. We also tried a few sushi rolls.. The Pearl, The Beverly and The Phoenix. Everything we ordered was excellent and the fish was so fresh. This is officially my favorite sushi joint! The front of the restaurant makes you question whether or not to go in however once you try the food you will not be disappointed.

Sushi Thaime is the sister restaurant to Sesame Inn in Evergreen Park, and the sushi is very similar (this means I avoid the spicy tuna roll, sadly, because spicy tuna is my all-time favorite thing to order at sushi restaurants). The rest of the food here is yummy, though, and I like the ambiance in here a bit more than Sesame Inn. It's more cozy than Sesame Inn, so better for a date. I recommend the shrimp tempura roll and super white tuna sushi or sashimi. It's amazing. Warning: They have very slippery, large, unwieldy chopsticks, so I always ask for the wooden takeout version. They look at me strangely when I ask, but I do not care. I can only use dainty Japanese chopsticks. The big Chinese ones give me nightmares.

I read the reviews and decided to give this place a try for dinner. I ordered spicy tuna and spicy shrimp rolls. As I patiently waited, I noticed the place filling up pretty quickly. After quite a long time, my rolls came. After I finished, I wanted to order another roll because I was still hungry. I called for my waitress twice and nothing. They only had one waitress and one sushi chef. Finally, I got her attention and ordered another roll but that was a mistake because it took forever. Plus, I had to ask to have my water refilled. I was never asked how I was doing or if I needed anything. Very poor service very slow service! The food was good but not the best and I recommend ordering to go because of the bad customer service.

BEWARE!! went to get some dinner just a couple of mins ago and I found a ROACH in my pad thai. I told my server and all she did was take my plate away & tried to make me get more sushi instead. I refused and went to pay for the sushi I had already eatin, but she just rushed me out of the resturant and refused to let me talk to her. (More to the fact that there were two couples right next to me & I don't think she wanted them to know) I thought I was getting a good deal through groupon, but honestly for a few bucks more I should've just gone to Chi Tung.

This place has amazing sushi!! The Chefs are amazing! Probably the best sushi iv have. I would put it as my top 3 sushi places iv ever been to. But number 1 is still sushi sushi brokers in Phoenix. So complement to the chefs. The only reason why they didn't get the last star is because of the server. Our cups were empty more then half of the time us being there but our server was to busy texting on her phone during work the To give us refills on our drinks. Also the prices are kind of getting up there like 13 bucks for 8 rolls. But you get what you pay for right

The sushi was horrible. The rice was not a real sticky rice, the tuna wasn't flavorful at all. They didn't know what a Kani salad is. No spicy mayo offered. Finally the Wasabi is a low grade. The only thing that was ok wad the Shumai. There are not too many sushi places in this area so my guess is they try but they failed. I have not had their Chinese food but I haven't heard a good review about it. They should stick to an all Chinese menu.

Great experience. Finally found a good sushi joint I don't have to go into the city for. The dumplings and sushi were really good! Don't try the coconut soup it was way too sweet, but they took it off the bill. I will be back.

One of our favorite sushi joints. The menu is limited, but they maintain a high quality. With a wife with a sensitivity to crappy sushi, this place has never given her a problem. For as few options there are in the south suburbs, I'm glad they're actually among the best in the greater Chicago area.

Let me just say the service is horrible. We walked on and no one greeted us do we assumed seat yourself. Couple minutes later after we sat at sushi bar waitress comes and asks us if we are here to dine in.....yes! She brought water and walked away. I had to ask the sushi guy was he talking our order or her as it took her over 10 minutes to come back our way in front of restaurant...when she came back to take our order I guess as I had to prompt her as she was standing at the front. But while we're giving our order (sushi rolls and pad Thai), I noticed the specials written behind the bar as we were giving our order and I asked her about them ...well she didn't really explain so I kept with our original order. As in most Thai restaurants you usually get your sushi rolls first nope that did not happen as we got the pad Thai first and she knew we were sharing but didn't even bring us two plates. I had to ask her as she was walking away. After all that, the food was good and very fresh but I don't know if I will go back based on the service.

I came here on a date and was completely embarrassed. From the lack of cleanliness on the outside to the grime in the restroom and the surly waitress I had nothing to say but sorry. I'm a huge fan of their sister restaurant Sesame Inn and thought this would be a nice intimate place to try. I could not have been more wrong. When we arrived the outside was down right filthy. I was considering the weather and road salt until I realized it's been a week since it snowed and the businesses next door had spotless windows and clean doors. The waitress seated us right next to another couple who were dumped a couple bottles of perfume on themselves prior to dining out. I can't blame the restaurant or waitress for what other patrons do but I believe if the tables weren't on top of each other that it wouldn't have been as much of an issue. Upon a visit to the restroom I was disgusted to see the locking doorknob and light switch completely covered in filthy grime. It seems it's been months since anyone cleaned the place. The mirrors, bottles, and glasses behind the bar were smeared and covered in dust. This just added to the overall lack of cleanliness. The waitress hasn't been overly friendly but as business picked up she clearly became frazzled and lost all customer service skills. Even asking for an extra napkin became a problem for her. Oh, the food! It's sad when the cleanliness and service outweigh the food. Our Shrimp Tempura was slightly overcooked but still tasty. Sushi was freshly made and presented well. The order of Singapore Noodles was overly spicy but not overcooked and had some nice BBQ Pork. Overall I'd skip this place. Too many bad things to deal with for just average food.

This place is just ok. I really don't recommend coming here. I just go because it is close to home. The sushi is just ok and the more expensive rolls (Godzilla and volcano) were not at all what I was expecting. Very average. The miso soup was very good. The spicy crab bites were excellent. The server told my boyfriend and I we had to hurry up and order. When we said it was ok and that we would go somewhere else she insisted we stay just to hurry and order. Very awkward.

Like this place since it is so close to home. Sometimes the sushi is very good and sometimes it isn't. I only go here because it is local. I think they are a little over priced for the quality of sushi they serve you. The place is always very clean and neat that is also a plus.

This place is horrible it doesn't even deserve one star! I came here after my coworker told me about it. I walked In and it looked nice so after being seated I excused myself to go to the bathroom. When I finished I was greeted by the biggest roach I had ever seen. Needless to say I didn't even stay to try the food. It was disgusting.

This place is completely awesome starting with their amazing sushi rolls which are too die for! My favorite is Crazy & Godzilla roll and of course you can never go wrong with the traditional Californian. When it comes to noodles my boyfriend loves the Crazy Noodles since it consists of a wide, thicker noodle. Oh and their Orange Chicken is heaven with a perfect light batter and delish Orange citrus sauce to go with it. When it comes to their beverages I stick with regular water and their house green tea which is made with loose green leafs as oppose to using tea bags so the taste is earthly remarkable. Their restrooms are clean and elegant, very classy indeed. I love this place and come here every two wkd especially since you can find them on Groupon so check 'em out you won't be disappointed!

Service was good but food was disappointing, been here 3 times and I just couldn't like this place. The sushi had a lot of rice in it, the food was tasteless. I had the padthai and you would think it would be a safe choice but it didn't have a lot of flavor in it. Maybe they should change their cook. Wont be coming back in the future.

The best sushi on the southside. I got introduced to this place around 2008. The sushi melts in your mouth. They have other dishes as well such as the sesame chicken that phenomenal and broccoli and beef with these crunch noodles and sauce, yummy! A few months ago, I wanted to stopped coming b/c the sushi wasn't up the par from what I remember. I guess they hired a new sushi chef on nights. We started coming around lunch time since the prices are a bit cheaper. The sushi chef during lunch time saved the day. He reminded me why I kept coming back here. So now we just come during lunch and if we do during dinner, I'll order thai or chinese. Go here if you love sushi!

"Life is so very difficult. How can we be anything but kind." ~ Buddha If you seek to experience adventurous sushi that rivals dishes found deep within the magnificent city of Chicago, then please...continue on that glorious journey elsewhere. God's speed! I dine here as it is convenient, the fish continues to be fresh and flavorful, and the lunch specials leave some coinage in the ole' pocket without the hassle of large crowds. And hey....I'm prone to fits of fondness for crowds, but there are days or evenings when I just want my sushi fix and no fuss...that's when I swing by here. I realize this is run by "Sesame Inn" and I am not a fan of that establishment, but whatev. Everything in life doesn't make sense, so logic..off you go! Sushi Thaime boasts mellow decor, generous cocktails, a wall of comfortable banquette seating, attentive servers and parking that is easy breezy. Love their Groupon specials, green tea is always a win and unlike many other local establishments, their cucumber salad is never dry or overly sweet. Dig that they will make my sushi rolls with minimum rice if I'm keeping the carbs low and serve up chilled water with slices of fresh lemon during my meal. They know me here...and all of the other regulars as well... and so we now engage in this personable, kind exchange of gratitude.... minus meaningless verbiage. Nom Nom Nom 3.5 on the nose, but I'm gonna round this baby up to 4. Hell, you may come here and think, "What is wrong with you, GURL?", but service and comfort mean oodles to me when I've been working or running about like a madwoman so I need to de-stress, YO. The sushi is good. Not great, but good. This is the Southside...land of magnificent stuffed pizza, gargantuan burritos, saucy, sassy wings and champion-grade Chinese grub so slow your egg roll and rejoice there's some pleasant, affordable sushi in the area. MAD love for Chi Tung when I want an meaty entree, but It's oh-so sweet to have a chill spot. without lines and mammoth menus to grab a quick, healthy bite.....often on my own. *fiddles with my smart phone* Ooo..it's my turn in "Words with Friends"!

Went on a Friday night, it was busy but didn't have to wait long and the service was great. The plum wine was great along with the Gozilla! Tried the Mongolian beef and fried shrimp rice and both were also very good. Will come again and try other dishes along with the yummy plum wine!!!

Sushi Thaime came highly recommended by a friend of mine, since I was looking for good eateries while on vay cay. The place is very small, and the sushi is just average, in my opinion. I ordered the pineapple fried rice, Goliath roll and soft shell crab roll. It was very tasty, but the service was SO slow; we had to follow up on our order a few times. We had a pretty large party and our server was very accommodating and didn't make a big fuss. I liked that. Everyone that worked there seemed to be pleasant to be around, so I enjoyed the ambience more than anything. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a quick bite to eat and are in the area.

Let me begin by stating that I have been in customer service for a while now to understand that i should serve others with respect. I've loved this place for a while now, and I've never been so disappointed at this place. The service has always been good, up until today. My best friend and I decided that we wanted sushi, first place that came to mind was sushi thaime. We come in through the back and were greeted by the sweet Asian waitress outside (she's always a sweet heart). When we come in the place is pretty empty, I looked and one of the girls directed us to a small table. Being that the place was pretty empty I asked her if we can please sit at the table for 4 since it was roomier. I figured it wouldn't be a problem but the girl rolled her eyes and said "I guess"... STRIKE 1. Friend and I thought that was pretty uncalled for... Okay whatever. She come back and THROWS the menus on the table and doesn't say a word... REALLY? What kind of service is that...? STRIKE 2. If she would have apologized and not sat back down to do nothing, things would have been different and we would have stayed. We are all human, and have bad days, but you shouldn't take it out on people especially people you serve and bring business to your employer so they can employ you. Sadly, this is enough to drive me away from this place.

Love the food here. I am never disappointed. This restaurant is on Groupon a lot too. FYI - for not there is a problem with AT&T and the restaurant cannot receive calls from some numbers. If you get a busy message try calling from a different phone. This is not their fault.

anything Tempura is not good here, tastes like old grease. It appears that the sushi is fresh but it doesn't taste that way. The people are really nice though

I enjoy the sushi here very much. Although I like to look at menu on my phone before ordering, I'm a little disappointed there is no pricing and that the online ordering doesn't actually work. Also it sucks that you have to sign in JUST to see the menu. I just placed an order for $50 for pickup and I wish I knew ahead of time it was going to cost that much. Just be nice to see pricing so customers know what they are getting themselves into. Please fix it asap.

I really feel the need to update my review here. I used to kind of hate coming here. It's really growing on me though. The sushi isn't the best you will ever have, but it's not bad at all. The appetizers are all really good and so are the Chinese dishes. They will pour you a crazy strong drink here so watch out if you're a lightweight. I adore the staff here! They are all so sweet and actually remember my order from week to week. I've been trying to stop in once a week lately and have been really pleased on each visit.

Not what I expected. At best it was a simple OK. I mean, I used a Groupon but it was still not a good choice. The food was again very simple, no streamers falling down, no whistles when the food came out and the taste was at best "bland". I usually do not like to talk about Thai since I am a fanatic of Thai, but this time around I was not impressed. Please understand that this joint is quite eye catching but still a bit small for those who go with friends. Maybe a small group but a bigger group would have such a hard time here with the maneuvering and such. The food at best in my palette was okay. Ive definitely experienced better and bigger portions. But on the South side, we have very little to go on. So if you don't mind small restaurant dining, then your okay. Oh but if you want a real traditional experience, they do offer a table (ONE) in the front that actually has the sunken table where you dangle ever so slightly and your feet are under ground. That's kind of cool, but again, only one party can do that at a time since there is only one table of this sort.

The service and the food (still love the sushi the best) get better over time. Happy to report that we've had another great experience here. The sushi is super fresh and there are good options for my non-sushi husband. A nice little addition to Oak Lawn and I'm happy to update my first review to add more stars!

What can I say; we tried it for work but we plan on sticking to New China Tea & Chi Tung from now on! The portions were miniscule, the food was really greasy, the shrimp fried rice had shells in it, the tom yum soup was cloudy & had 4 shrimp swimming in it with no veggies, the miso soup that came with lunch was just warm water with 2 little green onion pieces floating in it, the shumai were super tiny, the sesame chicken came with no sesame. The peanut sauce we asked for was put in another person's order rather than in the condiment bag, so that we couldn't try it. They even shorted us on fortune cookies! One coworker ordered the dragon roll that cost $13. She said it was okay but will never order there again because she can order average rolls for a lot less money & a better presentation. Sad to say, we spent over $60 on 4 orders & 3 of the 4 were screwed-up. What made the experience worse was that when we complained about our order, the man didn't apologize or offer to correct anything. They just lost 4 customers plus about 12 more because when we like a place, the other 12 coworkers usually order there as well & sometimes order for office parties. NOT A COOL EXPERIENCE!

This place is just wonderful. Their service is so fast & friendly. Their sushi is fresh and their dinner plates are also fresh and full of flavor. Their iced tea is a must have,it's brewed fresh daily. Overall nice place to have dinner at. Their a bit pricy though but worth it.

Read the reviews and decided to take a chance with Sushi Thaime. There is a parking lot right down the block on 95th and we walked over. The surrounding businesses are old but walking into Sushi Thaime I was impressed with the decor and set up as compared with the surrounding blocks' businesses. Ordered Crab Rangoon (they called them crab angles) and they were big and actually pretty decent. Could use a bit more filling but ok. Onto sushi. They have 17 rolls on the menu and 3 specials the night we went. The menu is one page of sushi and 4-5 pages of Thai, Chinese, udon, noodles and rice dishes. When the sushi plate came the rice was visibly not rolled tight into the rolls. First sign of poor sushi making. The spicy salmon had zero spice (and I can taste even a little spice as I'm a spicy food wimp), the Philly roll had little to no avocado and the salmon was slimy. So badly wanted to spit the Philly out, but held back and wanted to puke. The dragon roll was so-so, nothing bad to say about it, but nothing stand-out-ish. The special we ordered was probably the best regarding flavor of the 4 rolls we ordered; it was king crab on top of a crab and lobster roll. Overall the sushi was not flavorful, semi -slimy and we will not ever be back. Sorry. Find another place.

I love this place!!! I have ordered food from this place a ton of times and have never been disappointed. The staff is pretty good, food is good, and prices are ok. I have noticed they have gone up recently (no need to freak out though, because they usually have a groupon) Overall i would recommend this place.

Sushi thaime hostess/server was unpleasant rude and non attentive. We went there today Sunday. It wasn't very full so there was no reason for such poor service. The sushi however was very good. Unfortunately we will never return due to such horrible service. Chi Tung and other Sushi spots in the area are much more viable options

Overall not impressed by this place. We were seated easily and quickly, but that was it for customer service. Everything else was slow. Granted it was a Friday night, but it took forever to order a drink and then order our food. I think there was only one waitress there, so not very efficient. I do have to say that the high school students that work there (who are probably just trying to earn some summer cash) did an excellent job. I would much rather have them as servers than the waitress we had. Food was alright; it was not anything special. Would much rather eat at Chi Tung

Fist time here, not impressed. This place needs to improve service!!! The waitress took our order but never offered or asked if we wanted something to drink, we had to chase her down. The food was ok, stick to the Sushi only!!

Been here about 5 times and mostly disappointed with them overall. Sushi was not fresh, slices of fish were skimpy, and the salmon was white/stinky on the rainbow roll. Had to throw half away. Cooked sushi was ok but hard to gauge when fried and covered in mayo/sauce. Came in one Sunday evening 30 minutes prior to close and the waitress rushed us out and literally said to us we need to hurry and they want to leave. There was 3 other tables! Wouldn't have sat down if we were going to be the only table. Their Chinese food (Orange chicken, beef n broccoli, etc) was less than decent. Need a lot of sauce to cover the foul taste of the meat and very rubbery/chewy. Water glasses were dirty and literally had food still stuck on them. Will never return.

The biggest secret of the south side! Sushi Thaime is always fresh, affordable, has specials every day, and the employees are very friendly! I love this place, I'm sorry it took me so long to find it!

Took my daughter on Christmas eve... The hot green tea was so good, not sure what they did, but yum! My daughter had a bunch of salmon sushi, (like always) and I had California rolls without the crab.. Everything was so fresh, and the service was fun and fast. Will definitely go again...

Love this place! Truly a hidden gem of the southwest suburbs. Most of the best sushi places are on the north side of the city, however this place does not disappoint. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The facility is very clean and the food is delicious! There are so many choices and the food is also very affordable!

I absolutely love the sushi and other menu items here! The one female waitress, I don't recall her name, is always the sweetest and very prompt right when you sit down. The crab angle is the best appetizer on the menu! Love coming back to this place over and over again!

I've been back here a few times, and the experiences were really good. The fish was fresh and not weird! The entrees are not bad either, but I would most def. take advantage of the lunch specials! The service is also pretty good, depending who you get.

Sushi Thaime has great lunch specials. I've been going here for years and still have never been disappointed. To be honest though I have never eaten anything other than the sushi lunch menu and am in love with the snow crab roll!

This is a nice part of the neighborhood. There aren't *too* many choices around here for sushi, so having more choices is always good. That said, nothing aside from the convenience really blows you away. Not that we didn't enjoy our meal, but we aren't absolutely dying to go back. The interior is nicely decorated, though. And I would love to get a group together someday and reserve the private room in the front, which looks awesome. The dish presentations are nice, too, especially the "sushi boats".

Love their food! Their sushi isn't amazing, but for a sushi place in oaklawn it's pretty high end. Nice environment.

Been wanting try this place for months, I was finally in the area to make a stop. I ordered the miso soup, spicy salmon roll, and two pieces of tobiko sushi. I was very disappointed with the miso soup and roll. The miso was very bland and very scarce of tofu, I've never encountered either of these complaints with miso soup before (even store bought, yikes) The roll was very bland, there was no spice present, and my order also lacked spicy mayonnaise that supposably comes with it as listed on the menu. I ended up mixing wasabi and soy sauce and that still wasn't doing it for me, a major bummer. The two pieces of tobiko were fantastic, I have a long time love with tobiko and these pieces were packed to the brim and had the fresh flavor I love! Alla in all, I'll most likely try again, every place deserve a second chance....

I come here often, and you have to try the ginger salad! Yakisoba with chicken and tom yum soup is what I order every-time. The waitress is so sweet, and one of the nicest servers.

It's not the most amazing sushi on the planet. BUT, it's the best I've found in the area for sure. The ambiance is actually pretty cool and the service is always great. My husband and I go there pretty regularly and I can't say I've ever had a bad experience. The ebi tempura is one of our favorites, and so is Rock 'n Roll, one of their specials.

They get one star only for in time delivery. And that would be the only plus of this place. God damn if it wasn't the poorest made sushi I have ever had. Hopefully I won't get sick- the unagi was of questionable quality.

Want a honest review? Their food is bland and lacks any authentic Asian flavor. I've had better Asian food at Panda Express.

The food is ok. The sushi is still just ok. It's nice that it's in oak lawn but I still prefer Chu Tung's sushi for the southside. I also love the fact they have they authentic vietnamese spring rolls. Tastes just like home. :) Anyways, my friend this time ordered an avocado smoothie. I couldn't believe how cheap they were. I was excited to see that they didn't use powder and they DID use real avocado, but I only saw one half go in the blender. When the drink came out... it looked so icy... light green... and not like a typical avocado smoothie. It was SUCH A RIP OFF for their high price. THEY SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST ADDED A BANANA TO MAKE IT MORE CREAMY!

So there I was, with two gift certificates burning a hole in my pocket and visiting family on the South Side for the evening. The boyfriend and I, who are HUGE fans of Sesame Inn, decided to check out its sister restaurant. So, we sit down and are brought the steamed towels, a lovely touch that I very much appreciate...yanno, kind of luxurious, right? I ordered the tobiko (VERY good) and the chirashi don, since I've not had sashimi in quite a while. The sashimi portion was very generous and the quality was excellent. As I recall, it was tuna, salmon, yellowtail and surf clam. I also had a glass of plum wine, which was decent. Staff was very helpful and the service was swift. The restaurant is kinda small, so I was glad it wasn't very crowded. I'm not sure it would be much fun if it were packed. I happen to prefer the atmosphere at Sesame Inn, but that's just a personal preference thing...

Came on a Saturday night. Place was fairly crowded and we were seated at the sushi bar. It took a long time for the waitress to come over and by that time we decided we better order before we lost her again! However out food came out quickly and the sushi was so delicious! We had a great time here minus the small bump in the beginning of no service. Will be back and I recommend!

We have tried this place several times since its so close to home, but we have all agreed to stop going. The last three times have been very disappointing. There is always a funny taste to the rolls, obviously not fresh fish. This last time I got spicy tuna and it was awful. It was a funny color too. No more Sushi Thaime for me.

Sushi Thaime continues to deliver. Super friendly staff, they wondered what happen to us and then saw why. We recently had a baby and sushi and pregnancy don't mix. Decor is quaint and nice, perfect amount of tables and always have a game on for the guys. The food is very fresh we have never had a single issue (as others have reviewed). All together excellence on the Southside.

We tried to give this place a second try...and I don't think we will be back. I really wanted to support small business here in Oak Lawn, but all four dishes we had tonight were awful as well as the appetizer - Crab Rangoon. We've had a lot of Asian cuisine in both the city and suburbs, and this unfortunately is near the bottom of the list. The Crab Rangoon was overcooked. I had the Singapore Noodle, which was pretty bland and disappointing overall. The Fried Rice was not fried rice - it was white rice with a few veggies thrown in. The Basil Shrimp was disgusting...no one could eat it. Thai Twin on Harlem Ave is the go to in this area. Also had one fortune cookie with our four dinners and an appetizer.

DO NOT WASTE YOU MONEY HERE - GO TO CHI TUNG IN EVERGREEN PARK My wife and I went to Sushi Thaime after buying a Groupon and the restaurant refused to take it - even though the coupon was valid. The waitress was rude and told us that since their food was so good that we would be back. I have never been so embarrassed in a restaurant. They should learn the common phrase, "The customer is always right". Also, the restaurant was dark, dingy and smelled like bad fish. We went down 95th street to Chi Tung in Evergreen Park and had a MARVELOUS meal. If you want good Sushi, Chinese or Japanese food go to Chi Tung and avoid this place. If you want to pay for overpriced, Dominicks-grade sushi then I guess you can waste your time here.

Even though this restaurant is owned by the same people as the Sesame Inn, I had a much better experience at the Sesame Inn. Number one, as a restaurant supposedly specializing in sushi, the rolls were not imaginative in the least. Just your regular california roll, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, tamago, etc. No spider rolls or anything of that nature. The fish was very fresh and tasted great, but you need to do more than put good fish on rice if you want to be a "sushi" restaurant. I would expect this kind of sushi from any run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant that also has sushi. The spicy rolls were a huge disappointment, they were not spicy at all. I'm pretty sure they just chop up good fish and mix it with Sriracha. There was no spicy mayo on anything, despite the menu on their website including it in the description. You can find better sushi at Sake Bob in Oak Forest, and during their happy hour it's much cheaper than here. What really made me deduct stars from this place was the service. There were a total of 3 tables here on Valentine's Day, but we couldn't get our server's attention. We waited a good 20 minutes after we were done for our bill. Their other restaurant was much better, and we will return to the Sesame Inn, but skip this place!

I don't care what others say, this place is the best! The restaurant is quaint and cozy. The waitstaff is great. The lunch special is 1 dollar for a single piece of sushi and 4 dollars for any roll. You can't beat those deals and the quality of the fish is just as good as the more expensive north side places.

I ordered take out. California rolls and seasame chicken. Chicken was not amazing but the rolls were decent. Take out was packed very neat 1-2-3 just perfect. Inside is so so nice and clean pretty fancy too. it's defintely worth a try.

I'm totally bummed about this place. They used to be great, and now it's hit or miss. It's the closest sushi bar to my house, so I was really disappointed when my California roll was falling apart, and not very fresh tasting. I don't know if they're really busy, or getting lazy....but I won't be frequenting here as much as I previously have been. The prices are decent, and the food isn't horrible...so don't count them out all together, just be aware you may have a slightly sloppy maki roll.

My first encounter with Sushi Thaime was when my husband and I ate in. Food was ok, we ordered some of the specials off the menu but nothing I remember specifically, restaurant was empty, service was fine. There were some people at a nearby table who were pretty rude to the waitress, but she handled it well. The same night the delivery driver had gotten into a car accident and the waitress was busy answering the phones and trying to fix that mess, and she was very apologetic to us, but I felt like the service was good, especially despite the short hand the waitress was dealt. Although Sushi Thaime shares a website with Sesame Inn (our "regular" Chinese place), their food is completely different. We did takeout from Sushi Thaime, and I was not impressed. The sushi rolls aren't rolled tightly enough and tend to fall apart more easily than sushi I have gotten anywhere else. The egg rolls are seriously the most paltry egg rolls I have ever ordered anywhere, and the crab angles (crab rangoon) could use some additional filling. The sweet and sour chicken pieces are very small, and the fried rice is ok. Their pineapple fried rice is a different dish than I have found on most menus and it is pretty good. My husband likes the taste of the sushi, I feel like when I have ordered it it tastes "off". Then, we bought a Groupon and went to use it on the day it expired. We ordered ahead and when I went to pick it up, the restaurant scanned it and said it was only worth $15. I said that on the Groupon website (which I looked up on my phone while there) that the Groupon said "expires today!" on it, so I would have assumed I could use it. The guy who was at the counter just shrugged his shoulders. He is not the type of person I would have working at the front of my restaurant, did not seem to know what to do at all. Finally the woman who is usually at the counter came up and I explained the situation to her. She said the Groupon was only ringing up for $15, so they would only honor it worth $15 of food. She said it had happened to a couple different people that day. I showed her that the Groupon website said it expired on that day, and she said I would have to take it up with Groupon (which I have, and they have no explanation, so that's a whole different story). She said that they would have accepted it for $30, but that they can only go off what the Groupon app they ring it with says (I understand that it's a restaurant's call on that one). So I told the woman I wouldn't have ordered $45 if I only had $15 worth of credit, so I didn't want all of the food. I ended up paring my order down and getting about $15 worth of food and being done with it. They ended up throwing the rest of the food away. So instead of honoring the Groupon (that said it expired that day, not the day before) for $30, collecting my additional money for what I ordered, and giving me the food, they only honored it for $15 and threw the rest of the food away. From reading other reviews, it appears I'm not the only one they have done this to. They also lost a customer. I'd always rather go to Sesame Inn for Chinese food, and to Chi Tung for Thai and sushi. Definitely better options in the neighborhood for a very comparable price.

Awesome sushi bar! Very nice atmosphere. Tonight was the second time that I have eaten there and we were very happy with everything that we ordered. My 5 and 6 year old loved their food and my husband had the chicken Pad Thai, so good! I would really love to try the party room, but it is reserved for parties with 6 guests or more.:(

Updating - last couple of visits were so-so. Service was painful. Come at an off time and have a drink and some sushi. I don't care for their hot meals. Excellent sushi and a location close to home! I really enjoy Sushi Thaime - the sushi is so good and fresh. (My other favorite sushi haven is Naniwa but that's downtown.) Haven't had a chance to try the other dishes but with today's - 8/25 - Groupon (yay!), we are going to for sure! It's a nice atmosphere inside - don't let the storefront appearance fool you. I used to be a big fan of Chi Tung when THEY were still a storefront - we never go there anymore. Too big, too busy, too many kids, too much noise! I'd much rather patronize a smaller local business with a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

I don't get all the sour reviews. My wife and I go here fairly often, living within walking distance. We order a variety of things, sushi, maki, temaki, soups, entrees, etc, both take-out and eat-in. The quality is consistently the same, very good. The food and the atmosphere are surprisingly good. Kinda trendy, and the staff are all very nice. The late hours are nice. Which is why it kinda saddens me to see party-poopin' reviews. I'm assuming they're suburbanites who are trying to be food snobs, but this place is better than 90% of the competition in and around the city. Those of us who would appreciate even decent sushi and Japanese in Oak Lawn, let alone this good - we're happy the place is here. I love the coconut soup. Chi Tung doesn't have anything like it. And the turtle roll is cute - shaped like a real turtle, with the head being the wasabi and little caviar eyes.

This place is pretty average for sushi. It definitely has its pluses - fresh, clean, well made rolls, nice quiet environment, and great lunch specials. However, if you're a big fan of the spicy rolls, like I am, you'll likely be disappointed. The chefs use way too much of the spice for the spicy mayo on the rolls like the spicy tuna roll. That sweetened chili spice? It ends up tasting more like Mexican food than sushi. My recommendation? Great for a local quick lunch, but stay away from spicy rolls.

LOVE IT!!!!!! I go all the time. They have lunch specials which are unbelievable. $3 for maki rolls and $2 sushi, cant beat it! Also for dinner the prices are very reasonable and you get a big portion. The service is great and I have never had to wait for a table. Parking is really easy to find and the hours are great.

My wife and I have been eating here for years and have never had a bad experience or meal, so I was sad to read less than stellar reviews. It doesn't feel like you're in Oak Lawn when you go in. It's very modern, clean, and has a very hip vibe to the place. The service is casual, not overbearing but attentive, and helpful. I've had sushi at many places and their California rolls are the best I've had anywhere. It's such a simple roll but they do it right. Their specials are great as well as the other dishes they make. My wife and I almost always get some fried rice to take home. The unagi, godzilla, and rainbow rolls are outrageously good. I've gone here for dates, for lunch, and with friends and I love this place. We love supporting a local business that has made us happy over the years. Check out their sister restaurant, the Sesame Inn, about 2 miles east on 95th. Ate there recently and was very pleased!

Ummmm....no. I came here on a wednesday night, it is pretty small but the private room seemed pretty cool. Anyway they bring us these nice towels to wash our hands, but then have you ever SMELLED your hands?! EW. It smells like old wet rags. Gross. Two different people asked us if we wanted drinks and the staff was just weird and uncoordinated. We had an older lady take our order, that she messed up, but fixed and brought us out the correct dish. Towards the end a younger girl who looked like she was in high school was walking by and I asked if they had any dessert. Her reply " Ummmmmm I dunnooo, I think we have Ice Cream"..She comes back later and lets us know they have mochi. Seriously, you don't know the menu? At least tell me you are new if you are new but if not then wow. Then this creepy guy in a stained black shirt and raggedy jeans who I assume is the bus boy just was watching us and taking our dishes from us. It was just weird. They need uniforms!!! The sushi menu is a joke. There are like 10 rolls they have and 2 of them are philadelphia and california...nothing fancy. It is also so confusing because it doesn't even list everything that comes on the roll, for ex California: crabstick, cucumber, avocado. It comes out with fish roe on it. WTF? Their spicy tuny just says : tuna. And they also have a tuna roll that says the same thing. They have specials written on this board that just says the name of the roll and the price. When I asked the waitress what was in the White Dragon, she said "white tuna and soft shell crab". I was like "Thats it, no avocado, cucumber or anything"..."oh ohh yeah it comes with ummmm avocado, wasabi, ..."..WTF?? My Garlic Chicken that I ordered was written on the menu: spicy, chicken, peas, carrots, waterchestnuts. It came out with chicken, green pepper, bell pepper, onions, weird cabbagy stuff, NO peas, small amt of carrots and waterchestnuts that were MUSHY not crunchy. Ugh. Just so very thoroughly disappointing. This place needs major help.

A year or two ago, this place would have gotten an instant 5 stars. Like other reviewers, I suspect it may be under new management or the sushi chefs have started to get lazy. I don't know what happened. Still can't beat that lunch special though. $4.00 for nearly all the rolls they have, and $1.00 for nigiri! I've found that the normal original waitress is usually there around that time too, which makes me really happy because she is just fantastic. Also, please note that they did a really nice job with the atmosphere of this place. It's great for a date!

Great little spot for sushi outside of the city. Well made rolls, good atmosphere. Definitely reasonably priced and usually lightning fast service. The Volcano roll is fantastic - Golden Nugget special is also pretty amazing (beef maki). Come in or order delivery at least once a week - can't go wrong with Sushi Thaime or the sister spot Sesame Inn.

Very average sushi place. Atmosphere is very cozy and nice inside, but it has a cramped table set up, so if the place was larger inside it would be better. They serve some thai food and chinese food as well. We have tried sushi, appetizers, and some salads. Nothing is memorable or craveable, but they have much better sushi than Chi Tung and this is the only gig in the southwest suburbs for sushi that I know of.
(3)
John C.
This place was OK for the southwest burbs. I usually travel way up north for Japanese food. For a rainy day when I don't feel like driving far this place will do. I had the chicken teriyaki and shrimp vegetable tempura benton box (lunch special), it was good and worth the price. My wife tried the tuna and California rolls. The previous poster was right about the rice, it lacks flavor but the fish is fresh. Not bad. Service was good. They have one high chair to accommodate the small one.

UPDATED: Yelp wouldn't allow me to post without giving them at least one star. They get NO stars from me! I was all prepared to enjoy sushi from Sushi Thaime tonight, however they would not honor my Groupon. Needless to say I was very disappointed. Although I've read that Sushi Thaime had done this in the past, I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I will never go there again, and I will spread the word to my friends how I was treated. My next stop is to report them to Groupon. They need to take their offer off Groupon if they're not willing to honor it. That is all!

EKKK. Groupon was offering a deal with this restaurant "pay 15$ worth of 30$ sushi food , my total came out to 29.25 and had to PAY AN EXTRA 2.40$ WTF i as a groupon user never hear of an extra charge for such a crappy food that tasted like rotten milk or some-sort of bad taste. Thanks to those a$$wholes i had food poisoning the next day. SMH. STAY AWAY. DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU!

Oak Lawn doesn't spring to mind when someone suggests Sushi. However, this restaurant sports a somewhat chic and intimate ambiance with an "I'm gonna grow up to be a downtown sushi bar" flair. The large flat screen TVs do take away from the overall setting, but I presume it is needed to compete with the local sport bars and restaurants. There is an Asian waitress there who runs the show adequately, maybe the other staff can learn from her service. I'm no sushi connoisseur but my wife and I often find ourselves here on days off or for a spontaneous lunch. By the way the LUNCH sushi specials Mon--Fri are fantastic. A dinner date for 2 can be approximately $60, but order the same thing for lunch and the bill is under $30!! You can't easily beat that. I believe the food deserves 4 stars, and if the staff polish up their customer service skills I will edit this review to an overall 4 star rating. Cheers!

My southside favorite for sushi. I only go for the lunch special, it is incredibly cheap, however the quality is top notch. We always have the same great server who knows exactly what we want each time. The dragon roll(different at dinner) is a staple, as well as the red berry roll. The miso is ok, but the Thai iced coffee is to die for. I'm always pleased with my lunch here and left looking forward to the next one.

Love this place! It's such a hidden gem and so cheap for such great food. Can't remember the names of the sushi and maki rolls (honestly I've never had a bad dish here). And you must try the hot saki!
(5)
Roxanne G.
Love the Godzilla and Dragon rolls and the shrimp with walnuts. During the week they have $4 rolls for lunch! If you get the Clipper "magazine" they will often have coupons for Sushi Thaime in there for $5 or $10 off.
(4)
Nan M.
The sushi was packed with overcooked rice that instantly fell apart, and it wasn't even that good. The miso was absolutely awful; it tasted like it had been watered down. They charged for refills. They tried to sit us at the bar when there was a perfectly good table right behind us. I seriously hope that one day decent Asian food will come to the area one day because everything I've tried around here has sucked.

Went with a Groupon. Nice atmosphere. Sashimi and the roll we had were excellent as was the miso soup. My husband had the teriyaki chicken. That was another story. The sauce the chicken was sitting in was watery and not too much flavor. Probably go again for the sushi/sashimi, but not the cooked items.

This is an excellent place to dine at. The selection is varied (check the specials board for whats new) and the sushi is consistently very good. The decor is nice and they have a flat screen tv showing sporting events so its nice to watch the Sox lose (again) while eating yummy sushi. If you like sushi, check this place out, its worth the trip! Free parking in parking lot in rear (who parks on 95th street anyhow?)

Probably the best sushi place on the south side. Great service good food. Like the atmosphere. Cant say an ill word of the place.

Love this place! My boyfriend and i always stop by this itty bitty place for a quiet dinner and sake before heading out for the night. The wait staff is super sweet and attentive and knows all their regulars well. The sushi is always perfect. None of that 'too much rice, not enough fish' thing goin on. The curry is a bit blah but its called sushi thaime, not curry time. Ive even brought my five year old daughter here and she had the sweet and sour chicken and gobbled it up! It wasnt just greasy breading on a tiny piece of chicken like most places. The chicken chunks were huge as were the portions. She split it with a friend of mine, a 6'2 dude at that, and everyone left full. Know they also have a private room in the front with traditional floor seating and a large window that looks out on to 95th. Never got to eat in there though since whenever i have a big group we go to chi tung where the selection is a lot larger and more appeasing to picky eaters. But if a 30 minute wait and a loud atmosphere isnt your thing, hit up this place. perfect for good food and good conversation!

Oh Sushi Thaime, I did not order wisely. I was in the mood for tempura but alas, it was not that good. My friend liked her food but I just had a case of bad ordering, I think. Service and waitstaff were good and it was a nice atmosphere. Next time at Thaime, I'll just go for the sushi.

... Good News....our negative experience with Sushi Thaime (ordered thru GrubHub 11/4/12) was reversed -- they refunded our $$ and apologized for our not being able to contact them due to mixup with our order and not being pleased with two selections. We will try them again based on their handling of this negative experience. Thank you!

One Word.. AMAZING... no no wait i take it back... ORGASMIC! alright i have not tried most of the food but this little place is comfortable the staff is nice and their Godzilla roll is ORGASMIC.. thats usually what i order... i fell in love instantly.. ORDER IT!!

The food here is superb. Great tasting fresh sushi with plenty of variety. Also, it has a great modern atmosphere. The only down time to my visit was the service. The servers are knowledgeable, but depending on which one you get politeness may be lacking. My waiter brought the wrong entree to one of the people in my group and when she brought it to his attention he told her that was what she ordered and only after begging he reluctantly to it back to the kitchen and swapped it out for the correct one. Still, the experience was thoroughly enjoyable and I could definitely see myself returning.

Sushi is the best when you can actually afford it. If your on a budget check out their lunch special which runs everday, from 12-3. $4 rolls and $1 nigiri(individual pieces). The owners are cool and will cook for you. The sushi chef is good at making sushi and the atmosphere here is very cooool man. Dim lighting plus chill lounge music and T.V.s which usually is playing some sports channel. Also they have a private VIP room for special occasions which over looks 95th street and has those bamboo shades that can close for privacy. You can sit on the pillows and put your feet in the ground like your actually in Japan. They have all different types of food-Chinese, Japanese,Thai, and lots of delicious appetizers. YOU will like the gyoza.

AWESOME!!!! Let me give this place 4 Stars because they delivered to Midway airport after convincing them that I will give the driver an extra $15 for delivering. This place is on 95th and I live on 49th so it's not close at all. Price is average not cheap and not expensive. Nigiri White Tuna was like butter it melted in my mouth. It was so good!!! The Salmon was fresh but not as fresh as the White Tuna. The Spicy Tuna roll was good but odd. Never really had one that tasted that way. It was really good.... Just different. I was amazed by the freshness.... For a place on the South Side of Chicago it was delicious. My Uncle ordered a mix fried rice which I thought lacked salt but he loved it!!! Total $54 dollars did not say it was cheap... But I got 8 Nigiri, Spicy Tuna, Sea Weed Salad and Miso Soup. Along with the rice... I totally feel satisfied and that I got my monies worth. I can't give it 5 because that is reserved for places like Nobu and Michelin star Sushi but this place is great.

Decent prices, good food (with the exception of egg rolls and some of their Chinese-American dishes), decent place to park, good service, and decent scenery. Although, their take out is a bit of a disappointment. For one, you only get a fork, and some packets of soy sauce or sweet and sour. Would be nice to add in chopsticks or spoons for the soups. Their lunch specials don't seem as well prepared.. in comparison to ordering it regularly.

Well recently went back to Sushi Thaime, has been one of my favorite places and a god send for the south side. The lunch special from 11:30-3:30 with $4 rolls is such a bargain. Things just tasted off, rolls seemed smaller...like a cut rate lunch. It's not that it wasn't fresh, just not something that would make me want to come back. Regular waitress also not there, so wonder if under new management. Not so sure it's still on my hit parade. Willing to try again in a month or so, but with caution...

My husband & I got sushi take-out from here & we had no complaints! Everything was fresh & tasted delicious, the spicy tuna roll & unagi (eel) rolls were our favorites. Our order was ready in 10 minutes, so it's super quick & the decor inside when we picked up our order was very sleek & sophisticated. We'll probably dine-in at some point, but this has definitely earned a spot on our refrigerator as a go-to takeout!

Is it just me or the sushi rolls in the south side just too big? Well, at least at Sushi Thaime they may be a bit wide but the slices are thin so you can eat it well. We also ordered some Thai items and they were ok. This may be a good place for lunch and inexpensive.
(3)

Had a few different sushi rolls... my boyfriend really liked it... I was pretty unimpressed. Ordered 4 different rolls but couldn't tell the difference taste-wise between any of them. Service was good and the room is comfortable though... we'll return; not like there are a lot of options in this area.

There's plenty of great Italian, Mexican, and American styled places on the south side, but with the exception of Chi Tung, there are very few Asian-influenced restaurants.

(4)

They get one star only for in time delivery. And that would be the only plus of this place. God damn if it wasn't the poorest made sushi I have ever had. Hopefully I won't get sick- the unagi was of questionable quality.

Want a honest review? Their food is bland and lacks any authentic Asian flavor. I've had better Asian food at Panda Express.

Now they are always on Groupon and their rolls have been made out of more rice than anything. Still good but not the place to go if you are looking for a good sushi dinner.

Love the Godzilla and Dragon rolls and the shrimp with walnuts. During the week they have $4 rolls for lunch! If you get the Clipper "magazine" they will often have coupons for Sushi Thaime in there for $5 or $10 off.

Had a few different sushi rolls... my boyfriend really liked it... I was pretty unimpressed. Ordered 4 different rolls but couldn't tell the difference taste-wise between any of them. Service was good and the room is comfortable though... we'll return; not like there are a lot of options in this area.

The only Sushi place I know in the southside. The sushi is really good....a little pricey to what I'm use to but worth it. Atmosphere is nice. I recommend the ice cream balls for dessert.....sooo goood.

Thank you!

(4)Reggy H.

But you get what you pay for right
(4)Bhumendra J.
(1)Jedediah N Maron G.
Great experience. Finally found a good sushi joint I don't have to go into the city for. The dumplings and sushi were really good! Don't try the coconut soup it was way too sweet, but they took it off the bill. I will be back.
(4)Matthew R.
One of our favorite sushi joints. The menu is limited, but they maintain a high quality. With a wife with a sensitivity to crappy sushi, this place has never given her a problem. For as few options there are in the south suburbs, I'm glad they're actually among the best in the greater Chicago area.
(4)Camille R.

(1)April S.
(3)Jaclyn H.
Like this place since it is so close to home. Sometimes the sushi is very good and sometimes it isn't. I only go here because it is local. I think they are a little over priced for the quality of sushi they serve you. The place is always very clean and neat that is also a plus.
(3)Sara M.
(1)Mirna S.
(5)Keith P.
Great little place ! Not easy to spot unless you are looking for it. Very clean and very friendly staff.

Tom Yum Soup, Shrimp Tempura and Chicken Pad Thai. All were wonderful.

(5)Tanya S.
anything Tempura is not good here, tastes like old grease. It appears that the sushi is fresh but it doesn't taste that way. The people are really nice though
(3)Tony D.
(3)Melissa B.
(4)Damian P.
(2)Nanc A.
Love this place clean friendly and amazing sushi!! Recommend the dragon and spicy crunch roll.
(5)Julie R.
The service and the food (still love the sushi the best) get better over time. Happy to report that we've had another great experience here. The sushi is super fresh and there are good options for my non-sushi husband. A nice little addition to Oak Lawn and I'm happy to update my first review to add more stars!
(4)Lupe G.
(1)Jamila I.
Food was great!!! Must try the spicy tuna is to die for but not the best service. :-(
(4)Sara N.

(1)Emily K.
I love this place!!! I have ordered food from this place a ton of times and have never been disappointed. The staff is pretty good, food is good, and prices are ok. I have noticed they have gone up recently (no need to freak out though, because they usually have a groupon) Overall i would recommend this place.
(5)Anthony P.
(2)Melissa T.
(2)Ariel A.
Fist time here, not impressed. This place needs to improve service!!! The waitress took our order but never offered or asked if we wanted something to drink, we had to chase her down. The food was ok, stick to the Sushi only!!
(2)Brian L.
(2)Synn E.
The biggest secret of the south side! Sushi Thaime is always fresh, affordable, has specials every day, and the employees are very friendly! I love this place, I'm sorry it took me so long to find it!
(5)Laurie A.
Took my daughter on Christmas eve... The hot green tea was so good, not sure what they did, but yum! My daughter had a bunch of salmon sushi, (like always) and I had California rolls without the crab.. Everything was so fresh, and the service was fun and fast. Will definitely go again...
(4)Raquel R.
Love this place! Truly a hidden gem of the southwest suburbs. Most of the best sushi places are on the north side of the city, however this place does not disappoint. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The facility is very clean and the food is delicious! There are so many choices and the food is also very affordable!
(5)Jessica S.
I absolutely love the sushi and other menu items here! The one female waitress, I don't recall her name, is always the sweetest and very prompt right when you sit down. The crab angle is the best appetizer on the menu! Love coming back to this place over and over again!
(5)Bobby B.
I've been back here a few times, and the experiences were really good. The fish was fresh and not weird! The entrees are not bad either, but I would most def. take advantage of the lunch specials! The service is also pretty good, depending who you get.
(3)Megan B.
Sushi Thaime has great lunch specials. I've been going here for years and still have never been disappointed. To be honest though I have never eaten anything other than the sushi lunch menu and am in love with the snow crab roll!
(4)Anthony P.
(3)Nisreen A.
Love their food! Their sushi isn't amazing, but for a sushi place in oaklawn it's pretty high end. Nice environment.
(4)Kelly S.
(2)Chris S.
I come here often, and you have to try the ginger salad! Yakisoba with chicken and tom yum soup is what I order every-time. The waitress is so sweet, and one of the nicest servers.
(5)Kathleen R.
(4)Magda M.
They get one star only for in time delivery. And that would be the only plus of this place. God damn if it wasn't the poorest made sushi I have ever had. Hopefully I won't get sick- the unagi was of questionable quality.
(1)Crystal C.
Want a honest review? Their food is bland and lacks any authentic Asian flavor. I've had better Asian food at Panda Express.
(1)Lisa S.
Now they are always on Groupon and their rolls have been made out of more rice than anything. Still good but not the place to go if you are looking for a good sushi dinner.
(3)Jessica Q.
The sushi was nothing to brag about but the service was good. The outside of the restaurant is pretty dirty looking but your actually surpised when you go inside. Cute for a date night
(3)Linh L.

(3)Michelle S.
(5)Jo M.
(1)Brian N.
(5)Brian M.

(1)Evelyn P.
Of course the sushi is awesome, one thing I absolutely love though is their thai iced tea. DELISHHH
(4)Jason A.
(2)Mike H.
(5)Frank S.
I ordered take out. California rolls and seasame chicken. Chicken was not amazing but the rolls were decent. Take out was packed very neat 1-2-3 just perfect. Inside is so so nice and clean pretty fancy too. it's defintely worth a try.
(3)Christine S.
(3)Michelle S.
(2)Megan B.
Awesome sushi bar! Very nice atmosphere. Tonight was the second time that I have eaten there and we were very happy with everything that we ordered. My 5 and 6 year old loved their food and my husband had the chicken Pad Thai, so good! I would really love to try the party room, but it is reserved for parties with 6 guests or more.:(
(5)Julie R.
(2)Chris D.
(5)A C.
(3)M H.
(4)Doug C.

(3)Jack C.
(5)Monica B.
(3)John C.

(4)Kelly D.
Love this place! It's such a hidden gem and so cheap for such great food. Can't remember the names of the sushi and maki rolls (honestly I've never had a bad dish here). And you must try the hot saki!
(5)Roxanne G.
Love the Godzilla and Dragon rolls and the shrimp with walnuts. During the week they have $4 rolls for lunch! If you get the Clipper "magazine" they will often have coupons for Sushi Thaime in there for $5 or $10 off.
(4)Nan M.
(2)Donna L.
(3)Patrick E.
(4)Keith B.
Probably the best sushi place on the south side. Great service good food. Like the atmosphere. Cant say an ill word of the place.
(4)Kimi D.
(4)Kelly W.
(2)Diane D.

ORDER IT!!
(5)Thomas L.

(5)Joel M.

We have eaten here a few times. Never disappointing. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. It's close by so it is a nice sushi fix. Prices are reasonable too.
(4)Andy S.
(3)Chris J.
The sushi is good wish we would have seen the specials before we ordered. Also there is coupons for $5 $10 off which makes it taste even better. Good lunch specials too.
(4)Carole C.
(2)Kate J.
(4)Bill S.
Great place!!! Great sushi...nice people. A great south side treat.
(3)Laura M.
Is it just me or the sushi rolls in the south side just too big? Well, at least at Sushi Thaime they may be a bit wide but the slices are thin so you can eat it well. We also ordered some Thai items and they were ok. This may be a good place for lunch and inexpensive.
(3)Aurora S.
Had a few different sushi rolls... my boyfriend really liked it... I was pretty unimpressed. Ordered 4 different rolls but couldn't tell the difference taste-wise between any of them. Service was good and the room is comfortable though... we'll return; not like there are a lot of options in this area.
(3)Mrs. F.
The only Sushi place I know in the southside. The sushi is really good....a little pricey to what I'm use to but worth it. Atmosphere is nice. I recommend the ice cream balls for dessert.....sooo goood.
(4)Laura H.
pretty solid place for sushi in the oak lawn area. they have thai entrees too, even some chinese dishes, so you get everything you want! nothing fancy, but decent enough to satisfy a craving.
(4)Issa K.
I do have to say this is good sushi it's not north side old town sushi but good none the less the prices are fair not too much not to cheap plus its hard enough to find a good sushi place on the south side of Chicago as is any way good atmosphere inside you can have wine and a nice dinner but not very big maybe 40 max inside
(4)Est B.
Oh no!!!!! run!!!! we just ate here, heard about it from a Groupon, lets just say the food went right through us!!! We got the runs. Never again. yuk!

Sushi Thaime is a great addition to the south side! There's plenty of great Italian, Mexican, and American styled places on the south side, but with the exception of Chi Tung, there are very few Asian-influenced restaurants. When I first entered Sushi Thaime, I was impressed by the decor. The lighting is not too bright, the decor is trendy but relaxed, and there is a sushi lounge (I have no idea what this is really called, but one of those cool rooms where people take their shoes off and sit on pillows). The waiter was attentive and brought us warm towels and continuously refilled our water, which is very important to me! The sushi was reasonably priced and great, and whenever I am off work in time I cannot wait to take advantage of the lunch special ($4!!!!!!!). I recommend the Unagi, the Spicy Salmon, and the Dragon. Great place, and about time the south side has a place to grab sushi! Thank you Sushi Thaime!

(1)April S.
(3)Jaclyn H.
Like this place since it is so close to home. Sometimes the sushi is very good and sometimes it isn't. I only go here because it is local. I think they are a little over priced for the quality of sushi they serve you. The place is always very clean and neat that is also a plus.
(3)Karen B.
(5)Denise D.
(4)Reggy H.
(3)Ashley S.
BEWARE!! went to get some dinner just a couple of mins ago and I found a ROACH in my pad thai.
(1)Joshua T.
But you get what you pay for right
(4)Bhumendra J.
(4)Sara M.
(1)Mirna S.
(5)Keith P.
Great little place ! Not easy to spot unless you are looking for it. Very clean and very friendly staff.
(4)Ashley P.

(4)C M.
Tom Yum Soup, Shrimp Tempura and Chicken Pad Thai. All were wonderful.
(4)angelica d.
(2)Yuri L.
(2)Kenton E.
Love the food here. I am never disappointed. This restaurant is on Groupon a lot too. FYI - for not there is a problem with AT&T and the restaurant cannot receive calls from some numbers. If you get a busy message try calling from a different phone. This is not their fault.
(5)Tanya S.
anything Tempura is not good here, tastes like old grease.

Food was great!!! Must try the spicy tuna is to die for but not the best service. :-(
(4)Sara N.

(2)Melissa T.
(2)Ariel A.
Fist time here, not impressed. This place needs to improve service!!! The waitress took our order but never offered or asked if we wanted something to drink, we had to chase her down. The food was ok, stick to the Sushi only!!
(2)Brian L.

(3)Nisreen A.
Love their food! Their sushi isn't amazing, but for a sushi place in oaklawn it's pretty high end. Nice environment.
(4)Kelly S.
(2)Chris S.
I come here often, and you have to try the ginger salad! Yakisoba with chicken and tom yum soup is what I order every-time. The waitress is so sweet, and one of the nicest servers.
(5)Kathleen R.
(3)Linh L.

(3)Michelle S.
(5)Jo M.
(1)Brian N.
(5)Brian M.

(1)Evelyn P.
Of course the sushi is awesome, one thing I absolutely love though is their thai iced tea. DELISHHH
(4)Jason A.
(2)Mike H.
(5)Frank S.
I ordered take out. California rolls and seasame chicken. Chicken was not amazing but the rolls were decent. Take out was packed very neat 1-2-3 just perfect. Inside is so so nice and clean pretty fancy too. it's defintely worth a try.
(3)Christine S.
(3)Michelle S.
(2)Megan B.
Awesome sushi bar! Very nice atmosphere. Tonight was the second time that I have eaten there and we were very happy with everything that we ordered. My 5 and 6 year old loved their food and my husband had the chicken Pad Thai, so good! I would really love to try the party room, but it is reserved for parties with 6 guests or more.:(
(5)Julie R.
(2)Chris D.
(5)A C.
(3)M H.
(4)Doug C.

(3)Jack C.
(5)Monica B.
(3)Bernadette B.
(5)John C.

(1)Dina K.
(1)Ro D.

Love the Godzilla and Dragon rolls and the shrimp with walnuts. During the week they have $4 rolls for lunch! If you get the Clipper "magazine" they will often have coupons for Sushi Thaime in there for $5 or $10 off.

I recommend the ice cream balls for dessert.....sooo goood.

pretty solid place for sushi in the oak lawn area. they have thai entrees too, even some chinese dishes, so you get everything you want! nothing fancy, but decent enough to satisfy a craving.

Thank you!
